Problem Solving/Protection/Certification Training

Solutions and behavioural corrects to common problems experienced in bite, obedience issues for deployments. E.P.C.A. Garry is retiring as a Captain with the Madison County Virginia Sheriff’s Office. During Gary’s career Gary has been a handler, trainer and person in charge of the Madison County, VA K-9 Unit.

Garry is the one of the founders of EPCA and is currently the Vice-President, Trainer in all Disciplines, and Judge in all Disciplines for EPCA. Garry will work with teams with problem solving, protection, obedience, and tracking and for certification testing with the Eastern Police Canine Association.

Tony is a retired Sergeant, K9 handler and Trainer with the Town of Newburgh (NY) Police Department. Tony is “one of the few” that was able to achieve the highest level of certification with EPCA in patrol and tracking. Tony is a Patrol and Narcotics Judge and Trainer for EPCA.

Tom is currently a K9 Handler with the Niagara Parks Police Service located in Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada. The city of Niagara Falls is a destination that is visited by millions every year. The Niagara Parks Police K9 Unit is responsible for explosive detection sweeps during the massive influx of tourists and for large international events held along the Niagara River Corridor, including multiple explosive sweeps for VIP and international dignitaries. Furthermore, the Niagara Parks Police K9 Unit has acquired a specialized skill set to be able to work in the high angle environment of the Niagara Gorge.

Tom is currently working with his second service dog, specializing in Urban Tracking and Explosive Detection work. He is a member of the Canadian Police Canine Association and this is Tom’s fourth year with the Southern Tier Police Canine Association. Tom will be assisting in conducting training in Tracking Problem Solving.

Duane is a well-known trainer and has handled a K-9 as a patrol officer, sergeant, lieutenant and captain, the unit’s supervisor with the Binghamton, NY Police Department retiring as such. Duane is currently working for the Department of Homeland Security as a Field K9 Coordinator with TSA overseeing the training of TSA Explosive Detection K9.

Duane is currently a sworn officer with the New Berlin, NY Police Department. Duane is one of the founders, directors, examiners and trainers for EPCA and STPCA. Duane will work with you on Explosive Detection. Duane will be available to examine NYS BMP Certification for Narcotics, Explosives, Evidence Recovery, Tracking and Patrol. Duane is also a Trainer and Judge in all Disciplines for EPCA.

Dan retired from the Cheektowaga, NY Police Department as a K9 handler. Dan is one of the founders and a director of the EPCA, and is currently the association’s secretary. Dan will conduct an introduction, problem solving and practical exercises, drive development and enhancement of detection.

Dan is a certified Trial Judge and Trainer for EPCA. Sergeant Damon Bee of the Washington Township NJ Police Department, a trainer who is handling his second dual purpose K9 will be assisting Dan.
